Sometimes you can tell a lot by how a build thread starts off, and this ToyAudi build, by BiffS on IH8Mud.com, is no exception. BiffS starts out by saying:

** Disclaimer** this entire project is intended to be something quite different. I've already heard enough of the "just put in a SBC" and things like that, so it's already been covered: not going to happen.

This unique project starts with a 1980 FJ40 Landcruiser. BiffS pulled the 2F motor and sold it. In its place, he put in a 2.8L narrow angle V6 from a 1996 Audi A6 Quattro. It hooks to a tranny and tcase from a Toyota mini truck.

Other goodies include an aluminum tub, and an external tube cage.
