History and condition of the Salt Flats.

An additional thought. California is experiencing an ever increasing water shortage. Maybe they need to install desalination plants, and pump the resulting salt brine to Bonneville!!!

and why hasn't there been any de sal plants anyway? I mean the USA has ocean on 3 sides and they claim " the oceans are rising at alarming rates" Soooo ???

Maybe it's just me..

One of the arguments used against them is the energy required and what to do with the waste water that is extra salty. A couple of small nuclear power plants could solve a lot of the problems they have in California. Can you imagine the outcries you would get if that was proposed.
