    this was a tragic event, and is often cited and used in safety leadership training as an example of leaders doing the wrong thing in the safety space, and allowing dangerous sitautions/ behaviours to exist after being brought to attention.

    I remember the day that crash happened. Planes doesn't provide much lift on their vertical stabilizer, so you don't exceed maximum bank angle. Also, a B-52, even though it had 8 (old) jet engines, clearly doesn't have enough thrust to push itself out of a stall, like an F-18 can. That was a very sad day.

    The cockpit alarms would have been screaming their tits off long before it reached the point of no return. Good that this maniac pilot is permanently grounded sad he had to take three other good men with him.
