Amen! Wasn't me, but a girl a few ahead of me. Ripped about a 1-1/2" slash in her breast she flinched so hard when the guy jammed it against her arm. I much prefer needles, and after a 24 year military career, and about that much again with loads of medical stuff, I've gotten to become a injections connoisseur.

Maybe 1960's but was still in use in 1990. Both sides at once. Gotta love boot camp efficiency.

Don't feel a thing? B.S. We were injected for the dreaded Rubella in 6th grade and lots of kids got sick and some passed-out. We were taken back to our rooms and told to lay our heads down for a while afterwards.

When I started to school there was no kindergarten of if there had been I never went to it. A few weeks before I was supposed to start first grade my mom hauled me the 30 miles to the DR so I could get a smallpox vac. Something apparently kids had to have to be allowed to attend school. A few days later I came down with something all over my body. Backe top the DR. He examines me and pronounces me as having a case of smallpox, so I wound up in the hospital for a few weeks then had to stay at home for a few weeks after that by the time I started school it was already October. Shortly afterwards they herded us a few to a group at a time to the nurse's station where she was pricking kids' arms with some little 4-pronged thing and giving us all a sugar cube. Something to do with a TB tine test and Polio was all I was told. I had no idea what TB tine was, but Polio I had heard of. A kid in a neighboring farm had Polio a few years before and had to wear braces on both legs. I just knew we were all going to come down with Polio, none did but some kid had the measles so most of us came down with measles instead.
