This video, originally posted by PJs in a recent Candy fracturing GIF thread, is one of my new favorite manufacturing videos, and deserves its own thread.
It features the manufacturing of a UK candy treat called "rock". In the US, we would call this "stick candy"; it's essentially a straight candy cane. In the UK, it's a tradition to embed a logo or location name into the candy; the candy letters of the name are still visible when the candy is bitten.
This video has everything: nostalgia, good music and narration, high production values, terrible puns, short length, a glimpse into a foregone work and manufacturing culture, gorgeous large copper vessels, and enormous pieces of candy.
