    1950 Douglas A2D Skyshark attack aircraft - photos

    Douglas A2D Skyshark prototype carrier-borne attack aircraft built by Douglas Aircraft for the United States Navy in the 1950s. Two prototypes and 10 pre-production examples were built before the program was canceled in favor of new jet-powered aircraft.

    Looks like it was built on the Douglas Skyraider platform.

    Very similar but not that close. Last example on display outdoors at the San Diego Aerospace Museum annex , Gillespie Field, El Cajon, Ca.
