    Nothing new under the sun.

    Shows exactly how much water is actually required for strong concrete. No forms is a real plus. Forming this would not be a simple exercise.

    Quite ingenious for round structures, Looks like hard work to move scaffolding and to feed it.
    But folks back then weren't put off by hard work.

    Mostly because they had no other option. It's easy to assume that the work ethic was different then, but the truth is that as soon as any time/effort-saving tech is available it is put into use.
