But cooler when compared to more recent product surges, no built-in camera, phone app, spirit level, gaming, GPS assist...

This reminds me of my Meccano days when I was a youngster. I still have a lot of it including a clockwork motor.

anyone know what the cam on the second from top shaft is there for? - doesn't seem to engage with anything, but it is distinctly machined, so it took effort to put it there.

Amazing what you find looking for answers to questions.

Maybe this place can answer that question.

    Or this place.

This last site says "This Example Is Powered By A Simple Wind Up Clockwork Mechanism. This Style Mechanism Was A Staple For Use In Mantle And Grandfather Clocks Of The Time Period But Was A New Found Power Source For Moving Air."

If it was originally used in a clock, I am going to guess the cam might have worked a striker for chime or something. But just a guess.

You can but one for only $3,200.00. You know, in case your AC stops working this summer.
