    Having seen 'arts' s-too-dense using bandsaws with the guard/guide as high as possible cutting 1/2" sheet, I'd love to see this more widely spread, unfortunately said s-too-dense would be unlikely to watch and learn, they only learn from experience...

    To be fair, Sam Maloof was a terrible example of how to use a bandsaw...something he admitted himself. While I'm not going to say I'm always good about making sure the guard/guide is in the right position, it's definitely the way to keep from slipping and losing an arm to that beast...something I've always had a mild fascination about the quick destruction it could do to someone's arm or even head. If you're ever being interrogated by the mob, hope they don't have a bandsaw in the same room.
