12 volt chainsaw ?

This is just an idea I've been thinking about and wanted to get some input as to whether it's even worth pursuing, has anyone ever tried converting a gas or 110 volt chain saw to use a 12 volt starter motor ?

Well, it definitely has the torque, but I don't know if heat will become an issue during extended operations.

I was wondering the same thing, I've since discovered a 12 volt motor is used by a chain saw manufacturer but I would imagine a starter motor would need too many mods to be worth it, probably better off buying a manufactured unit.
