Excellent Idea. Few home shop ceilings are high enough to spread light effectively. In reference to your comment about sag; reduce that with 'I' shape vertically compared to horizontal '--'. Increased sectional thickness makes the difference; as will cutting plywood instead of solid wood. and/ or tapering the length. Those complicate assembly a bit, but not adversely.
